Liverpool FC gave me inspiration in every step of my life. To chase my dreams of a career in pro sports, to being a needed distraction when I lost my mother - they've been a constant in my life through the good times and the bad. The football club, the city, the supporters - it's a global community like no other. It only felt right to have a traditional version of their club crest tattooed onto my heart.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?I think we as a community turn to our ink when we reach a new peak, when we reach a new low, or simply because we were inspired to get something badass - and I am no different. My ink speaks for my growth through success, failure, inspiration, lulls, and everything in between. Every piece represents a chapter in my life, and each speaks to that chapter - so I like to think of my body as a storybook for my lifeline.
What would you do with the $25,000?I'd make a donation to the Starlight Children's Foundation. They help kids in hospitals have fun and remain comfortable while they are being treated with things like superhero themed hospital gowns, video games, toys - stuff like that. What they do is tremendous work, and it's one of the few charities I've found that you actually get to see the work in action. I think it would be great to supply them with temporary tattoos so that the kids could express themselves through tattoos like we get to.
