Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

This story is wild. My most recent tattoo was inspired by my favorite novel Jitterbug Perfume by the late Tom Robbins, done by the excellent TomatoTats, Nichole Fernandez! When me and my wife first started dating she introduced me to this novel, her already having a Jitterbug Perfume tat. 7 years later, I met the artist, Nichole, and knew her style was perfect for my own. The crazy part? I got the tattoo on the very same day Tom Robbins passed.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

LET ME OUT!!! One tattoo burned off in an accident, so the rest may be a bit traumatized by losing such a beautiful mermaid. The newer ink is a bit more naive, but their wisdom is transcendent, much like a child’s. When I listen, I hear them whisper, “Keep it silly, bud.”

What would you do with the $25,000?

$25,000 would drastically change my life. I have debts, but I also have dreams. It’s funny how they go hand in hand. I’m a writer, and I write every day, but I don’t have the resources to unlock my full potential and turning my dreams into reality. This money would pave the path for me to live in the future I envision for myself. I could finish my projects and get the professional help I need to make writing my career. Plus, I would take my wife on the honeymoon trip to Italy I
