Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo, is “Ohana” with a heart on my hand… because at 22 I adopted my cousin and held her hand to becoming an adult. Ohana means family and family means nobody gets left behind… It was a hard task to accomplish but we did it, she did it, I did it. She has her own home now, and 2 babies of her own.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

It would say I am a lover of life. From my sentimental Ohana tattoo, to my memorial tattoos, to my flock of birds flying, to my tribute tattoo, of an owl on my chest… they are inked memories, as each tells a story. And as long as my heart is still beating, I look forward to permanently sharing my life story thru my ink. What would you do with the $25,000?

What would I do with $25,000? You know that’s a hard question for a single mom who is barely making ends meet… Do I take my kids on an adventure that they are long overdue for? Do I travel back to my homeland so my family can meet my kids finally? Do I just put it towards rent, which is already behind, to at least keep a roof over our heads? Many things that $25,000 could cover… but my first mission with it, would be to pay for my sons heart surgery, which insurance is saying
