Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo is in the works and not yet finished, it is a memorial piece for my son that suddenly passed away. I was 7 months pregnant when a placental abruption took place and I too almost lost my life as I went into DIC, where every organ was bleeding from the inside out. I was angry for a long time but the healing journey has brought me peace, a powerful understanding of life, as well as a daughter. The loss of my son will always bring me a level of pain but with pain comes wisdom.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

If my ink could speak it would say, 'Roooaaarrrr". Haha, most of my tattoos are spirit animals and every individual one has their own power and message. In totality my pieces tell a story of a warrior,a misfit, a spiritual leader, a mother, and most of all a woman whom is very human and making her way through life the best she knows how.

What would you do with the $25,000?

What I would do with the prize money is use it as a down-payment to get my little family into a house. The rising prices of the housing market have kept us living in a glorified shed. I am appreciative for what we have but as a mother I want better for my daughter. Indoor plumbing, hot water, a kitchen, and something that won't get swept away to Oz during a hurricane,are all things most Americans may take for granted, yet these are the things I see as a luxury.
