Felix the Cat represents more than a cartoon—he's the mascot of VFA-31 Tomcatters, my final Naval squadron. On Friday the 13th, I decided to blend my love for impromptu tattoos with this tribute, and it became the easiest 'bad' decision of the night.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?My ink would tell the story of life’s preciousness; which I came to know young when my mother was diagnosed with and thankfully beat cancer. As it speaks to a commitment to living boldly—embracing moments and making creative, fearless choices.
What would you do with the $25,000?The first thing I would do with the prize money is tip my artist ! Next, I would work with an artist, at Bang Bang NYC, to assist my mother with a piece near and dear to both our hearts. Since she has never received a tattoo and said the only one she wants "at her age" is to cover the scar that remains after her battle with breast cancer almost 15 years ago. It is my goal to bring this to life before she decides to chicken out !
