Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo is a modern take on the Virgin Mary, holding a finger to her lips in a “shoosh.” I grew up without a mother, born Catholic but non-practicing. Still, I’ve always admired the strength and hope Mary represents. This piece honors that quiet resilience—and is also dedicated to my father, who raised me alone and filled both roles of mom and dad with love and sacrifice.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

If my ink could speak, it would tell a story of survival. Of recovery from addiction, of pain transformed into purpose. The serenity prayer, my kids’ names, flowers, and a tribute to my dad—all reminders of what I’ve fought for. Each tattoo is therapy in color, beauty born from struggle, and proof that even after darkness, you can choose light. My ink is my journey—raw, honest, and free.

What would you do with the $25,000?

As a single mom, $25,000 would be life-changing. I’d use it to catch up on debt, create more stability for my child, and finally breathe a little easier. It would help me move forward without the constant weight of financial stress and give me the freedom to focus more on building our futur
