Shelby Templer

Tattoos don’t need to tell one specific story. I told my Artist that I’ve been to Hell and back, give me a suit of armor. Heavy metal baby.

What inspired your most recent tattoo?

"After enduring life-altering pain that nearly broke me, instead of hiding the damage, I turned to my artist and asked for armor. What they forged on my skin is survival: heavy metal essence, Japanese influence, and Texas Wild Style, glowing with color and intensity. Now, I carry the strength of tigers, the wisdom of dragons, the cunning of snakes, the fierceness of birds of prey, and the power of fire, lightning, skulls, and Oni—powerful, claimed, and unafraid."

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

This is proof-pain endured, battles survived, transformation earned. Not just decoration, but declaration. Scars turned to symbols, fear into fire, and insecurity into armor. Every line carries power, every color a chapter. This is a story written in blood and boldness- and it's far from over.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I'd see the world-not just to escape, but to expand. Travel is how I heal, create, and evolve. I'd photograph the many journeys, capture the wild, the sacred, the strange. Every new place is a chance to shed old scars and stitch something stronger in their place. I've built armor-now I want to take it everywhere, collecting new stories, light and power as I go.
