The Phoenix represents the battle we were fighting as healthcare workers during the pandemic. Many did not make it out and lost their personal battle against C19 after contracting the disease while caring for their patients. The rest of us continued to rise up and fight the battle despite the risks because it is what we were called to do.
If your ink could speak, what would it say?As an RN for 32 years, there have been many trials and tribulations to overcome. At times it has taken great strength like that of the Phoenix. As healthcare workers, we pick up our stethoscope, dust off our scrubs, and prevail to provide care another day. Well represented by the Phoenix and cycle of life it exhibits over and again.
What would you do with the $25,000?When I was in nursing school and could not afford my books one semester, the school used donations and purchased them for me. I would like to use some of the money for that fund so others can be helped. I would like to take my mom and her sisters on a road trip to trace their mother’s roots through Kentucky. I will also do some needed maintenance on my house!
