What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My sister in law, Tina, hung herself the day before my 50th birthday (she was 53). She left a suicide note and posted the song Freebird on her Facebook page. All her suicide note said was, "I love you all." OMG I can't even type this without balling. My two children and I got matching tattoos that says "I love you too" in Tina's handwriting.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

My first tattoo (lotus) would say, "Every day is another opportunity for a new beginning." It also reminds me of my ability to flourish in difficult conditions and my spirit's capacity to overcome challenges and emerge renewed. I recently had a group Reiki session with a master, and she said that of the whole group, I was the only one she received strong energy from as having an incredibly strong spirit. I need to be reminded of how strong I have been and will continue to be.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would get a tat around my breast to cover up my scars from reconstruction after cancer. I would then pay off debt so I can start the next stage of my life free as a bird. I am now an empty nester. I've spent the last 25 yrs taking care of 1 husband, 2 children, 1 horrible boyfriend, one pretty good boyfriend and a cat. It's FINALLY my turn to take care of me and I'm so excited! This stage of my life won't last long as soon I'll be caring for my elderly parents and future grandkids!
