Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My most recent tattoo is my childhood zip code in graffiti writing. It is on the back of my leg above my knee, coupled with “QGTM” on the other leg. I grew up in Bayside, Queens for 18 years, it is my home. Upon moving out of the neighborhood, only then I realized how grateful and proud I am that I was raised in Queens alongside my sister and our best friends, getting into trouble on the lake at Crocheron (it’s just a pond) and behind the McDonald’s and on Bell Boulevard.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

My ink tells many stories. From my first stick and poke in a basement in Staten Island and my second in my high school cafeteria, to the dreamcatcher on my thigh that’s been a work in progress for 5 years, my ink would probably tell you what it’s like to live a day in my life, and that’s a story for a drink and a cigarette.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the $25,000 I would be able to attend my dream school of Columbia. I’d like to be an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, and as a woman this is not an easy feat. My parents moved here while pregnant with my sister and I, so we never had much of an empire in this country to begin with. I’d like to start building that empire, and I’m so excited to have a passion for healing people while doing something totally awesome. I would also finally get the tattoo from BangBang I’ve
