Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My tattoo says “Sunt iertată,” meaning “I am forgiven” in Romanian. It’s placed at the center of my throat — where truth is spoken. As a first-generation Romanian-American and believer in God, this piece honors my heritage and faith. All languages carry beauty and power, but this one holds my roots and my redemption.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

“I am a canvas of becoming.” Many of my tattoos were done by artists in their early stages — imperfect, raw, real. I offered my body as space for growth, for trial, for passion in progress. Every line tells a story not just of who I am, but of who someone else is becoming.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I’d invest in my creative future — building a space to make art, share stories, and uplift others. I’d take classes, upgrade my tools, and help support upcoming artists the way I’ve been supported. I’d also give back to my community, especially those who, like me, have had to rebuild from struggle.
