Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

Honestly? The classic John Candy movie Uncle Buck. It’s my favorite. The tattoo is a hatchet. If you’re familiar with the movie, you’ll get it. In short, Uncle Buck has to come to his niece’s rescue when she falls prey to a predator named Bug. Uncle Buck pulls a hatchet out of his trunk noting it’s “sharp enough to circumcise a gnat.” Great movie.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

My chest literally says “hold on, be strong” and that’s kind of my motto. I’m a late stage cancer survivor and I’m now dealing with a traumatic brain injury. I’ve been through a lot of shit in my life but I just keep on trucking. I don’t believe you have a right to the cards you’re dealt; you’ve just got to play the hand you get. Buuutttt also a lot of my tattoos are just because they look cool. 😝

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’d throw a ton of it into my Etsy shop. Actually go all into starting my own small business. A good portion would go toward medical debt of course, aforementioned TBI. It’d be a huge blessing for my little family during a time of a lot of uncertainty.
