Connect What inspired your most recent tattoo?

My friend and I took a trip to Rome recently and one of my favorite monuments was the column of Marcus Aurelius. It detailed so many different parts of the time during his rule. I’ve always admired his stoicism and thought it would be cool if I got a tattoo of it. I thought it would be even better if the tattoo was at my friend’s original shop in Rome.

If your ink could speak, what would it say?

I think my ink would talk about the story of Marcus Aurelius’s reign. It would talk about the wars fought during his time against the Germanic and Sarmatian tribes. I think it would also talk about the fun me and my friend had in Rome during the time I got it. It’d tell about the FC Roma game, riding a Vespa along the Almafi coast, and the meals and wine we shared along our trip.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to support local New York City and Long Island based tattoo artists. Ideally I would either like to support newer artists to help them get publicity for cool tattoos they’d like to do, or I would like to have an established artist do a piece that’d mean a lot to them on an almost blank canvas.
